April 2015

Hi folks!

Are there April showers where you are? No matter where I have lived, I have never seen much rain in April. Maybe it is because my birthday is in April, but I’ve always thought this month gets a bad rap. Heck – three very important events occur every April: the NCAA Final Four, the start of baseball season and – most near and dear to me – The Masters.

Hope you are reading all sorts of lovely things. I’ve been diving into a bunch of biographies lately. Disappointed with some that I will not name and pleasantly surprised by others, like Bruce Buffer’s It’s Time (I am not even a UFC fan, yet I found myself deeply moved by many moments in this book). Always love the writing of Erik Larson, and his latest, Dead Wake: The Last Crossing of the Lusitania, certainly did no disappoint. And I found myself wishing I had known Dean Smith after reading his autobiography, A Coach’s Life.

Anyhow, enjoy this month’s book selections below. I hope you are all reading some wonderful books. Make sure to tell me all about them. If you're an author or a publisher and would like to send me review copies of your book(s), please send them to the address listed for authors and publishers.
