December 2019

Hi Folks!

Did you have a relaxing Thanksgiving break? I know a lot of folks were affected by winter storms (myself included), which meant plenty of extra time to cuddle up with a good book in bed or by the fireplace (or both)!

So, what are you reading? Anything you’d like me to check out? With multiple snow days this past month and plenty of time at home with the family, I managed to devour a wide range of titles – even by my standards. Among my favorites were the latest great novel by Tom Clancy – even though he has been dead for 20 years (but publishers never want a good name to go to waste) Code of Honor by Marc Cameron, The Overstory by Richard Powers (should be read by anyone who wants to debate climate change), the autobiographical The Beautiful Ones by Prince and – in anticipation of the Netflix film – The Irishman by Frank Sheeran. Hey, I know there is a lot of testosterone in those titles, but cut me some slack as I had to read a lot of teen romances, too!

Anyhow, enjoy this month’s book selections below. I’ve gotten so many emails from readers pleading with me to create a list of Christmas-specific books that I decided to cave this month in the spirit of the season (hey – if you don’t like it, send an email, as the squeaky wheel DOES get the grease).

I hope you are all reading some wonderful books. Make sure to tell me all about them. If you're an author or a publisher and would like to send me review copies of your book(s), please send them to the address listed for authors and publishers.
