Danny's Books of the Month

May 2026

Hi, Folks!

Happy Spring! Here in Colorado, we’ve traded our “barely-there” winter for a season of renewal. I hope you’re all soaking up the fresh air. I’ve been blessed to reconnect with so many old friends recently, and seeing those familiar faces has been a wonderful reminder of why we do what we do.

Speaking of purpose, an old mentor recently gave me the "butt-kick" I needed. He reminded me that my mission is simple: to spread the joy of reading. In a world of 15-second soundbytes, I’m doubling down on deeper reading. Whether it’s a 600-page epic or a slim 150-page masterpiece, there is nothing like losing yourself in a book.

So, what are you reading? Anything you’d like me to check out? I’ve had a ton of friends and family either recommend or send me great things to read. And MANY THANKS to those of you who send me books and manuscripts. I love hearing about people’s favorite books!

While I love the quick reads, I’ve tackled my fair share of lengthier titles this past month. Among my favorites were Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke, The Auction by Sadie Kinkaid, Hope Rises by David Balducci and London Falling by Patrick Radden Keefe.

I am going to repeat this…because it bears repeating. Young Adult authors out there: let's bring back the hope! Our teens deserve more than just dystopian gloom and shady diatribes about date rape, suicide and every other downer you can think of. Let’s give teens some titles that uplift rather than drain. It is so tough finding positive books for teens – no wonder they’re so depressed!

Anyhow, enjoy this month’s book selections below. I hope you are all reading some wonderful books. Make sure to tell me all about them. If you're an author or a publisher and would like to send me review copies of your book(s), please send them to the address listed for authors and publishers.
