July 2018

Hi Folks!

Can I give you a tip? If you keep reading, here it is: read for ten minutes to start and end your day. I’d also suggest you avoid the news (unless it is something inspirational, like a sports story or the comics) and focus on reading something positive. I can assure you that by making reading a habit (heck, if ten minutes seems like a stretch, try five minutes or even one). The more you make it into a habit, the easier it will become. This is one of the cornerstones of what I teach in my new program, ReadBetterin67Steps.com.

So, what are you reading? Anything you’d like me to check out? We are into the summer time now, and this is when a lot of kids’ reading abilities slide because they quit reading altogether outside of school. Remember: it doesn’t matter WHAT you read. What matters most is HOW MUCH you read. I’ve been reading a bunch of eclectic titles, from the heartbreaking Robin Williams biography Robin by Dave Itzkoff to Ruth Ware’s latest suspense thriller The Death of Mrs. Westaway, Kate Quinn’s historical fiction novel The Alice Network to Michael Pollan’s spell-binding How to Change Your Mind.

Anyhow, enjoy this month’s book selections below. I hope you are all reading some wonderful books. Make sure to tell me all about them. If you're an author or a publisher and would like to send me review copies of your book(s), please send them to the address listed for authors and publishers.
