December 2008

Hi folks!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and took the time to be with loved ones. I managed to sneak away from the road long enough to spend time with my wife and kids, my sister, my parents and my grandpa in beautiful Scottsdale, Arizona. Got a lot of reading done. I focused this past month on reading a lot of the great longer books for teens. Some of the books I enjoyed include Alan Sitomer’s The Secret Story of Sonía Rodríguez (Alan is a middle school teacher in Los Angeles and has a real knack for writing books that middle schoolers would like to read), Christopher Paolini’s latest in the Eragon series, Brisingr (yes, even I fall behind in titles I want to read) and Markus Zusak’s mesmerizing book The Book Thief (one word – wow!).

Anyhow, enjoy this month’s book selections below. I hope you are all reading some wonderful books. Make sure to tell me all about them. If you're an author or a publisher and would like to send me review copies of your book(s), please send them to the address listed for authors and publishers.
