April 2023

Hi, Folks!

Are you ready for winter to be over yet?

The one nice thing about this past chilly month of April was that I had plenty of chances to get under the covers and enjoy some really good books (and toss aside a couple of really bad ones). By the way – speaking of bad books – here is a strategy for lazy readers: if you dislike the first 30 pages of a book, get rid of it. I give you permission not to “finish your plate.” There are too many great books out there for you to waste your time on a bad one. Got it?

So, what are you reading? Anything you’d like me to check out? I’ve had a ton of friends and family either recommend or send me great things to read. And MANY THANKS to those of you who send me books and manuscripts. I love hearing about people’s favorite books!

Again, I’ve been plowing through a lot of books from different genres, geared toward a broad range of tastes and ages. Longer titles I perused included Outlive by Peter Attia, Camp Zero by Michelle Min Sterling, Every Man a King by Walter Mosley and A Girl Named Samson by Amy Harmon.

Anyhow, enjoy this month’s book selections below. I hope you are all reading some wonderful books. Make sure to tell me all about them. If you're an author or a publisher and would like to send me review copies of your book(s), please send them to the address listed for authors and publishers.
