May 2016

Hi folks!

I hope you are doing well. Odd weather in your neck of the woods? It seems like one day I’m freezing and the next day I’m in shorts. Must have something to do with the Presidential primaries (which seem to be taking longer than one of Tom Clancy’s descriptions of submarine gauges in The Hunt for Red October). A lot of readers have been asking me for more novel recommendations lately, so I have devoted more time to fiction this past month. Based on a recommendation from a friend, I checked-out Ben Fountain’s immensely rewarding Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, surprised myself by enjoying Mary Sheepshanks’s A Price for Everything and got a kick out of the always dependable, irreverently funny Christopher Buckley with his satre of Social Security, Boomsday.

Anyhow, enjoy this month’s book selections below. I hope you are all reading some wonderful books. Make sure to tell me all about them. If you're an author or a publisher and would like to send me review copies of your book(s), please send them to the address listed for authors and publishers.
