To appease my readers, I am trying to include more works of fiction and short stories. To appease me, I selected Binchy because I devour tales about two of my passions: travel and Ireland.

Would you believe that I had never read a book by the deceased prolific mystery writer Sanders? Sped through this one, and I have a bunch more to read on my bedside table. Terrific writer for airplanes and beach outings!

I must confess that this was not an easy book to read, as a lot of the math and history went over my head. Still, Seife weaves a fantastical historical account of the origins of the number “zero,” something we take for granted today.

Filled with enough romance, Fantasy and adventure, this book will appeal to both girls and boys.

Fascinating memoir of a Chicano ex-gang member from East Los Angeles. Makes for some great discussions with your boys.

Incredibly powerful memoir about bullying. Every secondary school in America should own multiple copies of this book and encourage book talks on it.

Thank you, CreateSpace, for making publishing available to anyone. There are so many great writers lurking out there, and I was delighted by Annunziato’s engrossing debut, written during his daily commute to work (much like Scott Turow did with Presumed Innocent).

The second in Broach’s wonderful Masterpiece series, this book is a great page-turner for new chapter book readers. Broach is an incredibly gifted writer.
