Can I give you the secret to a longer, happier life? Turn off the news, and read a good book. There’s so much nastiness everywhere nowadays, and it is starting to wear on me. I’ve been speaking around the country, pleading with people to Make America Kind Again. Let’s learn to disagree without being disagreeable. I’ve learned that the only person I can definitely change is ME!
Treat yourself to some quiet time at the beginning and end of your day, and read something positive. Can we reflect this Christmas on the reason for the season? Hint, hint: it’s not for shopping specials. So, what are you reading? Anything you’d like me to check out? I have been learning to speed-read, and I am going through more books than ever before (and before I read a lot!). Stuck with my usual eclectic menu of titles, from a book every member of Congress should read (to remind them of their power as an EQUAL branch of government) – John Quincy Adams by Harlow Giles Unger to the fascinating Dale Carnegie biography by Steven Watts called Self-Help Messiah, Janet Evanovich’s latest Stephanie Plum novel Hardcore Twenty-Four to Ree Drummond’s latest cookbook The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Come and Get It!
Anyhow, enjoy this month’s book selections below. I hope you are all reading some wonderful books. Make sure to tell me all about them. If you're an author or a publisher and would like to send me review copies of your book(s), please send them to the address listed for authors and publishers.
Have a wonderful December, merry Christmas, happy holidays and enjoy your books!
